13 – Al-Ḥusayn related to us; ʿAbd Allāh related to us; Yūsuf ibn Mūsā related to us; ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ⦗29⦘ Mūsā related to us; al-Ḥasan ibn Dīnār narrated from al-Ḥasan, who said:
ʿAlī stayed awake that entire night and kept saying, “When morning comes, I shall be killed.” His muʾadhdhin then arrived to summon him to the prayer, so he rose, walked a little, and returned. His daughter said, “Tell Juʿda to lead the people in prayer.” He replied, “There is no escape from the appointed term.” He then stood up, went out, and passed by the man who had likewise stayed awake all night awaiting him, but whom sleep had just overcome. ʿAlī nudged him with his foot and said, “The prayer!” The man got up, and when he saw ʿAlī he struck him. Al-Ḥasan remarked, “How did he know that?”
