11 – Al-Ḥasan ibn Kathīr related to us, from his father—who had met ʿAlī—who said: ʿAlī went out to perform the dawn prayer, and a flock of geese met him, squawking in his face. We started to drive them away from him, but he said, “Leave them alone; they are mourners.”
