Chapter on the Times When Prayer Is Disliked
It is impermissible to perform any prayer at sunrise, while the sun is at its zenith, or at sunset. In those moments one must also refrain from offering the funeral prayer or making the sajdat al-tilāwah (prostration of recitation)—save for the day’s ʿAsr prayer if its time has been delayed until the sun is about to set.
It is disliked to perform voluntary prayers after the dawn prayer until the sun has risen and after the afternoon prayer until the sun has set. During these two intervals, however, it is permissible to make up missed obligatory prayers, to perform the prostration of recitation, and to conduct a funeral prayer, but the two rakʿahs of ṭawāf are not to be performed then.
Furthermore, once daybreak has occurred it is disliked to perform more than the two rakʿahs associated with the dawn prayer, and no voluntary prayers are offered before maghrib.
