The al-ḥūr al-ʿayn (wide-eyed maidens) will not die when the Hour is established, nor when the Trumpet is blown, nor ever; for Allah, blessed and exalted is He (1), created them to endure, not to perish, and He has not decreed death for them. Whoever asserts the contrary (2) is an innovator, a deviant (3), and has indeed (4) strayed from the straight path (5).

Allah (6) created seven heavens, each one above the other, and seven earths, each one beneath the other. Between the uppermost earth and the lowest heaven (7) lies a distance of five hundred years’ travel, and between every pair of heavens (8) there is a span of five hundred years (9), and the water is above the heaven.
