CHAPTER: THE PRAYER OF THOSE WITH VALID EXCUSES1
152—A sick person is excused from attending the congregational prayer2.
(1) They are: the sick person, the traveler, and the person in fear. See *Nūr al-Basāʾir*, p. 19.
(2) The shaykh explained that if a sick person can pray standing when alone but would have to pray sitting when attending the congregational prayer, he should attend the congregation and pray sitting, because no other benefit can compare with the benefits of attending the congregation. See *al-Mukhtārāt al-Jaliyya*, p. 46.
