648—If they desist, he must refrain from fighting them; otherwise, he must fight them1 if they fight1.
649—His subjects must assist him in fighting them.
650—If he is compelled to kill them or destroy2 their property, the defender bears no liability.
651—If the defender is killed, he is a martyr.
652—None of them who flees may be pursued; none of their wounded may be finished off; none of their property may be taken as spoils; and none of their offspring may be taken captive.
653—Neither side bears liability for any lives or property destroyed during the fighting.

٦٤٨- فَإِنِ اِنْتَهَوْا كَفَّ عَنْهُمْ، وَإِلَّا قَاتَلَهُمْ١ إِذَا قَاتَلُوا١.
٦٤٩- وَعَلَى رَعِيَّتِهِ: مَعُونَتُهُ عَلَى قِتَالِهِمْ.
٦٥٠- فَإِنْ اضطر إلى قتلهم أو تلف٢ ما لهم: فلا شيئ عَلَى اَلدَّافِعِ.
٦٥١- وَإِنْ قُتِلَ اَلدَّافِعُ كَانَ شَهِيدًا.
٦٥٢- وَلَا يُتَّبَعُ لَهُمْ مُدْبِرٌ، وَلَا يُجْهَزُ عَلَى جَرِيحٍ، وَلَا يُغْنَمُ لَهُمْ مَالٌ، وَلَا يُسْبَى لَهُمْ ذُرِّيَّةٌ.
٦٥٣- وَلَا ضَمَانَ عَلَى أَحَدِ اَلْفَرِيقَيْنِ فِيمَا أُتْلِفَ حَالَ اَلْحَرْبِ مِنْ نفوسٍ وَأَمْوَالٍ.
