2—As for land animals, the basic rule is that they are permissible, except those expressly prohibited by the Lawgiver.1 These include:
A—The statement in the hadith of Ibn Abbās: “Every predatory animal with fangs is forbidden to eat.”2
B—“He forbade every bird with talons.” Narrated by Muslim.3
C—“He forbade the meat of domesticated donkeys.” Agreed upon.4
D—“He forbade killing four creatures: the ant, the bee, the hoopoe, and the shrike.” Narrated by Ahmad and Abū Dāwūd.5
E—All repulsive creatures are forbidden, such as insects and the like.
The Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—also “forbade consuming animals that feed on excrement and drinking their milk”6 until

٢- وَأَمَّا الْبَرِّيُّ: فَالْأَصْلُ فِيهِ اَلْحِلُّ، إِلَّا مَا نص عليه الشارع١، فمنها:
أ- ما في الحديث اِبْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: "كُلِّ ذِي نابٍ مِنْ اَلسِّبَاعِ فَأَكَلَهُ حَرَامٌ"٢
بِ- "وَنَهَى عَنْ كُلِّ ذِي مِخْلَبٍ مِنْ اَلطَّيْرِ" رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمُ٣.
جـ- "وَنَهَى عَنْ لُحُومِ اَلْحُمُرِ اَلْأَهْلِيَّةِ". مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ٤.
دُ- "وَنَهَى عَنْ قَتْلِ أَرْبَعِ مِنْ اَلدَّوَابِّ: اَلنَّمْلَةُ، والنحلة، والهدد وَالصُّرَدُ" رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ٥.
هِـ- وَجَمِيعُ الخبائث محرمة كالحشرات ونحوها.
وَ "نَهَى اَلنَّبِيُّ ﷺ عن الجلالة وألبانها"٦ حتى
