Chapter on Divorce by Redemption (Khul)

554—It is a man’s separation from his wife in return for compensation from her or from another party.

555—Its basis is the statement of Allah Most High: “If you fear that they will not maintain the limits set by Allah, there is no blame upon either of them concerning that by which she ransoms herself.” [al-Baqara: 229].

بَابُ الْخُلْعِ ٥٥٤- وَهُوَ فِرَاقُ زَوْجَتِهِ بِعِوَضٍ مِنْهَا أَوْ مِنْ غَيْرِهَا. ٥٥٥- وَالْأَصْلُ فِيهِ قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: ﴿فَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَلَّا يُقِيمَا حُدُودَ اللَّهِ فَلا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِمَا فِيمَا افْتَدَتْ بِهِ﴾ [اَلْبَقَرَة: ٢٢٩] .
