Zakat on Currency and Produce of the Earth
...
215—As for zakat on currency, it has already been stated1 that nothing is due until it reaches two hundred2 dirhams, at which point one-fortieth is due.
216—As for zakat on the grains and fruits3 produced by the earth, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“No zakat is due on less than five wasqs of dates.” Agreed upon4.
A wasq is sixty sāʿs. Thus, the zakat threshold for grains and fruits is three hundred sāʿs, according to the sāʿ measure of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
217—The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“On that which is watered by rain or springs, or which draws water naturally through its roots, one-tenth is due; and on that which is irrigated by drawing water, one-twentieth is due.” Reported by al-Bukhārī5.
