Chapter on the Acts Prohibited While in Iḥrām
- For a male pilgrim, it is forbidden to cover any part of his head with something that people regard as a cover, except in cases of necessity; likewise, he may not wear stitched, woven, or otherwise fitted garments on the rest of his body unless he can find nothing else to put on. A woman’s face is treated like a man’s head in this regard, and she is permitted to wear stitched clothing—other than gloves, according to the sounder opinion.
