Fiqh al-Adiyah wa-al-AdhkarAbd al-Razzaq ibn Abd al-Muhsin al-Badr

The words “Some weeping women came to the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace” use the plural form of “a weeping woman.” In some copies, the reading is: “I saw the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—brace himself on his hands.” This means that he bore down upon his hands when he raised and extended them in supplication.

When a Muslim supplicates to Allah for rain or for anything else, he should think well of Allah, place great hope in Him, persist earnestly in supplication, and never despair of His mercy—glory be to Him. His treasures are full, His generosity is immense, and His mercy encompasses all things.
