These are some of the etiquettes of the bearers of the Quran mentioned by al-Ājurrī—may Allah have mercy upon him—in the aforementioned book. He concluded his discussion of these etiquettes by saying:
“When a discerning believer recites the Quran, he measures himself against it, and it becomes like a mirror in which he sees what is good and what is reprehensible in his conduct. He avoids whatever his Lord has warned him against, fears the punishment with which He has threatened him, and desires and hopes for whatever his Lord has encouraged him to seek. Whoever possesses this quality, or comes close to it, has recited the Quran as it deserves to be recited and observed it as it deserves to be observed. The Quran will be a witness, an intercessor, a companion, and a protection for him. Whoever possesses this quality benefits himself and his family, and every good in this world and the Hereafter will accrue to his parents and his children.”1.
We ask Allah to grant us and you success in attaining this and every good. Allah alone is the One whose help is sought.
