is most upright and gives glad tidings to the believers who perform righteous deeds that they will have a great reward.” 1. Allah Most High also says: “We send down from the Quran that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it only increases the wrongdoers in loss.” 2.
For this reason, Allah—Glorious and Exalted is He—commanded His servants and urged them in more than one Quranic verse to recite the Quran and reflect upon it. Allah Most High says: “Do they not then reflect upon the Quran? Had it been from anyone other than Allah, they would certainly have found in it many inconsistencies.” 3. He also says: “Do they not then reflect upon the Quran, or are there locks upon their hearts?” 4.
Glorified is He, He informs us that He revealed it so that its verses might be reflected upon. Allah Most High says: “This is a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, so that they may reflect upon its verses and those of understanding may take heed.” 5.
Glorified is He, He also explains that those who strayed from the straight path were not guided because they failed to reflect upon the Quran and arrogantly refused to listen to it. Allah Most High says: “My verses were indeed recited to you, but you would turn back on your heels, acting arrogantly concerning it, spending your nights in vain talk and speaking evil. Have they not reflected upon the Word, or has there come to them something that did not come to their forefathers?” 6. That is, had they reflected upon the Quran, it would have led them to faith and prevented them from disbelief and disobedience. This demonstrates that reflecting upon the Quran calls to every good and protects against every evil.
