10/ The Noble Quran Is the Best Remembrance

The best means by which a servant should remember Allah is His speech—Mighty and Majestic—which is the finest, most beautiful, truest, and most beneficial speech. It is Allah’s revelation, sent down by Him, which falsehood cannot approach from before or behind. It is the noblest Book that Allah—Mighty and Majestic—revealed to the greatest Messenger: His servant, His chosen one, and the elect of His creation, Muhammad ibn Abdullah—may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him.

Allah Most High says concerning the glory and excellence of this Noble Quran: “They never bring you any argument without Our bringing you the truth and the best explanation.”1 Ibn Kathīr—may Allah have mercy on him—said: “This demonstrates the immense care accorded to the honored Messenger—may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him. The angel would bring him the Quran morning and evening, whether he was traveling or at home. Each time the angel brought him the Quran, its revelation was unlike that of the earlier scriptures. This station is therefore higher, more sublime, and greater than that of all his fellow prophets—may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon them all. The Quran is thus the noblest Book Allah has revealed, and Muhammad—may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him—is the greatest prophet Allah Most High has sent.”2 End quote.

The excellence, glory, sublime worth, and exalted rank of the Noble Quran are well known to Muslims. It is the Book of Allah, Lord of all worlds, and the speech of the Creator of all creation. It contains accounts of what came before us, news of what will come after us, and judgment concerning what arises among us. It is decisive, not frivolous. Allah will crush any tyrant who abandons it, and whoever seeks guidance anywhere else
