or right guidance, death, life, or resurrection—much less have power over any of these things for anyone else. Allah Most High says: “Yet they have taken gods besides Him that create nothing but are themselves created. They have no power to bring themselves harm or benefit, nor do they have power over death, life, or resurrection.” 1 He also says: “Indeed, those whom you invoke besides Allah are servants like you. Invoke them, then, and let them answer you, if you are truthful.” 2 And He says: “Say: Invoke those whom you claim to be gods besides Allah. They do not possess even an atom’s weight in the heavens or on earth, nor do they have any share in either, nor does He have any supporter from among them.” 3

There is no doubt that this is the gravest transgression and the most severe deviation and tyranny. We ask Allah for well-being and safety.
