39/ All Created Beings Glorify Allah

Because Allah Most High is perfect in greatness and absolute in dominion and might, all created beings glorify Him: the heavens and earth, mountains and trees, the sun and moon, animals and birds. There is nothing that does not glorify Him with praise.

Allah Most High says: “The seven heavens, the earth, and all those within them glorify Him. There is not a thing that does not glorify Him with praise, but you do not comprehend their glorification. He is truly Most Forbearing, All-Forgiving.” 1 He also says: “We certainly bestowed favor upon David from Us: ‘O mountains, join him in glorification—and the birds as well.’” 2 He also says: “We subjected the mountains and birds to glorify Us along with David. It was We Who did it.” 3 And He says: “We subjected the mountains to join him in glorification at evening and sunrise.” 4

These magnificent texts clearly demonstrate that all created beings glorify Allah, Mighty and Majestic. Animals glorify Allah, plants glorify Allah, and inanimate objects glorify Allah. There is nothing Allah has created that does not glorify Him with praise—Mighty and Majestic is He—even though we do not comprehend its glorification. This is real glorification, expressed by these beings in actual utterance, not merely through what their state signifies, as some claim. Allah, Majestic and Exalted, grants these beings faculties of perception through which they glorify Him. He, Majestic and Exalted, knows these faculties, whereas we do not. As He says: “There is not a thing that does not glorify Him with praise, but you do not comprehend their glorification.” 5.

٣٩/ تسبيحُ جميع الكائنات لله إنَّ الله تعالى لكمال عظمته، ولتمام ملكه وعزَّته، تسبِّحُ له جميعُ الكائنات، من سماء، وأرض، وجبال، وأشجار، وشمس، وقمر، وحيوان، وطيرٍ، وإنْ مِن شيءٍ إلاّ يُسبِّح بحمده. يقول الله تعالى: ﴿تُسَبِّحُ لَهُ السَّمَوَاتُ السَّبْعُ وَالأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ وَإِن مِن شَيْءٍ إِلاَّ يُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِهِ وَلَكِن لاَ تَفْقَهُونَ تَسْبِيحَهُمْ إِنَّهُ كَانَ حَلِيماً غَفُوراً﴾ ١، ويقول تعالى: ﴿ولَقَدْ آتَيْنَا دَاوُدَ مِنَّا فَضْلاً يَاجِبَالَ أَوِّبِي مَعَهُ وَالطَّيْرُ﴾ ٢، ويقول تعالى: ﴿وسَخَّرْنَا مَعَ دَاوُدَ الجِبَالَ يُسَبِّحْنَ وَالطَّيْرَ وَكُنَّا فَاعِلِينَ﴾ ٣، وقال تعالى: ﴿إِنَّا سَخَّرْنَا الجِبَالَ مَعَهُ يُسَبِّحْنَ بِالعَشِيِّ وَالإِشْرِاقِ﴾ ٤، فهذه النصوص العظيمة تدلُّ دلالة ظاهرة أنَّ جميعَ الكائنات تسبِّح اللهَ ﷿، فالحيوانات تسبِّح لله، والنباتات تسبِّح لله، والجمادات تسبِّح لله، وإنْ مِن شيءٍ خلقه الله إلاّ يسبِّح بحمد الله ﷿، وإنْ كُنّا لا نفقه تسبيحه، وهو تسبيحٌ حقيقيٌّ يصدر من هذه الكائنات بلسان المقال، وليس بلسان الحال كما يدّعيه بعضهم، واللهُ جلّ وعلا يجعل لهذه الكائنات إدراكات تسبِّح بها يعلمها هو جلّ وعلا ونحن لا نعلمها، كما قال سبحانه: ﴿وَإِن مِن شَيْءٍ إِلاَّ يُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِهِ وَلَكِن لاَ تَفْقَهُونَ تَسْبِيحَهُمْ﴾ ٥.
