tell you which words are most beloved to Allah?” I said, “O Messenger of Allah, tell me which words are most beloved to Allah.” He replied, “The words most beloved to Allah are: ‘Glory and praise be to Allah.’”1 This hadith demonstrates the exalted standing of these words with Allah, Glorious and Exalted.

Another virtue of glorifying Allah is the Prophet’s statement—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—that whoever says, “Glory and praise be to Allah,” one hundred times in a day will have his sins erased, however numerous they may be. It is authentically reported from Abu Hurayra—may Allah be pleased with him—that the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said, “Whoever says, ‘Glory and praise be to Allah,’ one hundred times in a day will have his sins erased, even if they are as abundant as the foam of the sea.”2

It is also authentically reported from him—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—that whoever says these words one hundred times in the morning and one hundred times in the evening will not be surpassed on the Day of Resurrection, except by someone who says the same or more. Muslim narrated in his Sahīh from Abu Hurayra—may Allah be pleased with him—who said: The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said, “Whoever says in the morning and in the evening, ‘Glory and praise be to Allah,’ one hundred times, no one will come on the Day of Resurrection with anything better than what he brings, except someone who says the same or more.”3

It is also authentically reported from him—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—that whoever says these words one hundred times in a day will have one thousand good deeds recorded for him or one thousand sins erased from him, and each good deed is rewarded tenfold. Muslim narrated in his Sahīh from Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqās—may Allah be pleased with him—who said: We were with the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—when he said, “Is any one of you unable to earn one thousand each day
