Fiqh al-Adiyah wa-al-AdhkarAbd al-Razzaq ibn Abd al-Muhsin al-Badr

mentioned above,1 scholars well versed in hadith unanimously agree that this list is not part of the Prophet’s words, may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him. Rather, it was interpolated into the Messenger’s hadith, may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him, by one of its narrators. Hence, al-Bukhārī and Muslim transmitted the hadith without the list, because it is weak and has not been authentically established from the Prophet, may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him. A student of knowledge will find the details of this matter fully discussed in the relevant works of the scholars.2

Moreover, as stated above, these names are found in the Quran and Sunnah. Whoever reads them both, relies upon them in matters of religion, and strives to reflect upon the Most Beautiful Names of Allah contained in them will attain the desired end and accomplish the intended purpose. Success comes from Allah alone.
