O Muslim,
You must give due attention to purity, both inward and outward. Inward purity is achieved through tawḥīd (monotheism) and sincerity to Allah in word and deed; outward purity is maintained by removing ritual impurity and physical filth. Our religion is a religion of purity, cleanliness, and freedom from both tangible and moral defilement. A Muslim, therefore, remains clean and dignified, constantly mindful of purification. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Purification is half of faith….”
So, servant of Allah, be diligent about cleanliness and keep away from impurities. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed us that most punishment in the grave comes from urine when a person does not guard himself from it. If any impurity befalls you, hasten to cleanse it as best you can so that you remain pure—especially when you intend to pray. Before the prayer, check your state of cleanliness, and when you wish to enter the mosque, inspect your shoes. If you find any dirt on them, wipe and clean them, and do not enter—or bring them into—the mosque while they carry impurity.
May Allah grant everyone success in what He loves and approves, in both word and deed.
