But if a pilgrim performing qirān or ifrād already made the Saʿī after his Ṭawāf of Arrival, that earlier Saʿī is sufficient; he need only perform the Ṭawāf al-Ifāḍah.
The recommended order of the four rites is as follows: casting the Jamrah of ʿAqabah, then slaughtering the sacrificial animal, then shaving or trimming the hair, and finally performing the tawaf and the saʿy. This sequence is sunnah; whoever reverses it—carrying out some acts before others—incurs no sin, for whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked on that day about an action done earlier or later he replied, “Do it, and there is no harm.” Even so, observing the stated order is superior, because that is how the Prophet ﷺ arranged the rites.
The manner of performing tawaf around the House is to begin at the Black Stone. One aligns with it and touches it with the right hand, wiping it and, if possible, kissing it. If he cannot reach the Stone because of overcrowding, it is enough to point toward it with the hand; he should not push or jostle others in order to touch or kiss it. Keeping the Kaʿbah to his left, he starts the first circuit, engaging in remembrance of Allah, supplication, or Qur’an recitation. Upon reaching the Yemeni Corner he touches it if he can, without kissing it, and between the Yemeni Corner and the Black Stone he recites: “Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire” (Q. 2:201).
