And gloves are a pair of hand-coverings into which the hands are inserted in order to shield them from the cold.

A woman in ihram must cover her face from unrelated men, but with something other than a burqa, for ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: “Horsemen would pass by us while we were in a state of ihram with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When they came up to us, each of us would lower her cloak over her face; when they had gone on, we uncovered it again.” Recorded by Aḥmad, Abū Dāwūd, and others.

It does no harm if the cloth that is let down touches the skin of her face, for she is only forbidden to wear a burqa or a niqab, not to cover her face by other means.

Shaykh al-Islām said: “A woman is not obliged to hold her covering away from her face—whether with a stick, with her hand, or by any other device—for the Prophet ﷺ treated her face and hands alike; both are like a man’s body, not like his head. The Prophet’s wives ﷺ used to let their veils hang over their faces without keeping the cloth from touching them.”

He also said: “It is permissible for her to cover her face with a cloth that rests upon it, except for the niqab and the burqa.” End quote.

The fifth of the prohibitions of ihram is perfume. It is unlawful for a pilgrim in ihram to take perfume or to apply it to his body or clothing, or to use it in food or drink, because the Prophet ﷺ ordered Yaʿlā ibn Umayyah to wash off the perfume and to remove the cloak,
