Chapter: The Proper Manner of Ablution

Now that you know the conditions, obligatory acts, and recommended practices of ablution, as previously set out, you are doubtless eager to learn the actual procedure in which those rulings are applied. What follows is the complete form of ablution, combining both its obligations and its sunnah elements as derived from the revealed texts, so that—God willing—you may put it into practice.

1. He begins by forming the intention to perform ablution for whatever acts require it, such as Prayer.
