al-Moulakhas al-FiqhiSalih Al-Fawzan

Whoever breaks the fast because of a legitimate excuse and that excuse ceases during the daylight hours of Ramadan—such as a traveler who has returned home, a menstruating or post-partum woman who becomes pure, a disbeliever who accepts Islam, an insane person who regains his sanity, or a child who attains puberty—each of them must refrain from anything that invalidates the fast for the rest of that day and must make up the day later. The same applies if reliable testimony establishing the beginning of the month is received partway through the day: the Muslims must abstain for the remainder of the day and then make up that day after Ramadan.
