al-Moulakhas al-FiqhiSalih Al-Fawzan

Chapter: On Recommended Charity

Likewise, whenever someone acquires wealth while needy and destitute people are present, the Sacred Law encourages him to give them a share of it. The Almighty says, “And give its due on the day of harvest” (6:141), and He also says, “When the division is attended by relatives, orphans, and the poor, provide for them out of it and address them with gracious words” (4:8).

These directives are among the noble qualities of Islam, a religion of empathy and mercy, of cooperation and brotherhood for the sake of Allah. How splendid is this faith, and how wise are its rulings!

We ask Allah, exalted is He, to grant us insight into His religion and steadfastness in adhering to His law. Truly, He is the All-Hearing, the Ever-Responsive.
