discord, unsettling the worshippers, and serving as a poor model for the indolent and those careless about their responsibilities. Such an imam must therefore be restrained until he diligently fulfills his task with firmness, neither driving the congregation away nor paralyzing the mosque’s leadership; if he will not correct his course, he should be removed from the office.
