Therefore, the imam must consider the rights of those behind him, avoid causing them hardship, and respect their feelings, just as the congregants must respect the imam’s right and honour him. In short, each side should bear with the other’s criticisms so long as they do not violate religion or proper decorum, for every human being is prone to deficiency:

Who can claim that all his traits are wholly pleasing?
Sufficient is a person’s nobility that his faults can be numbered.
