He then seeks refuge with Allah from the torment of Hell, from the punishment of the grave, from the trials of living and dying, and from the tribulation of the Antichrist, and he makes whatever supplications are reported in the Qur’an and the Sunnah.
Next, he gives the final salām to his right, saying, “al-salāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāh,” and then to his left the same. He begins the greeting while still facing the qiblah and completes it as his head finishes turning.
When he has concluded the salām he says, “Astaghfirullāh” three times, then adds: “Allāhumma anta al-salām wa minka al-salām; tabārakta yā dhā al-jalāli wa-l-ikrām” (O Allah, You are peace and from You comes peace; blessed are You, O Possessor of majesty and honor). After that he engages in the remembrances that have been authentically transmitted.
O Muslim, this is a brief outline of the prayer as described in the textual sources. You must therefore give your prayer the utmost attention and, as far as you can, make it conform to the prayer of the Prophet, for Allah the Exalted says: “Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent model for whoever hopes in Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah often” (Q 33:21).
We ask Allah to grant everyone success and acceptance.
