“And how many an angel there is in the heavens whose intercession will avail nothing whatsoever until after Allah gives permission to whom He wills and is pleased with.” (an-Najm 53:26)

It is established in the authentic collections that the Master of all intercessors ﷺ, when intercession is sought from him after it has first been sought (3) from Adam and the Messengers of firm resolve—Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus—will have it referred back to him. He is the servant whose past and future sins Allah has forgiven (4). He said: “I will go to my Lord, and when I behold Him I will fall prostrate before Him (5). He will then inspire me with praises of Him that He opens up to me—praises I cannot express now (6). He will say, ‘O Muhammad, raise your head; speak and you will be heard, ask and you will be given, intercede and your intercession will be accepted.’ I will say, ‘My Lord, my community, my community’ (7); He will then set for me a limit, and I will usher them into Paradise” (8)(9).
Then the Exalted said:
“Say, ‘Call upon those you claim besides Him; they possess no power to remove affliction from you or to redirect it.’ Those whom they invoke themselves seek a means of nearness to their Lord—whichever of them is nearest—and they hope for His mercy and fear His punishment. Indeed, the punishment of your Lord is ever to be feared.” (al-Isrāʾ 17:56–57) (10).
