hadith, jurisprudence, legal theory, and Qur’anic exegesis. From his earliest years he was renowned for keen intelligence, prodigious memory, and outstanding aptitude. He broadened his studies and plunged deeply into the sciences until the qualities required of a mujtahid were fully present in him while still a youth. Before reaching the age of thirty he had already become an imam whose knowledge, virtue, and leadership were acknowledged by the very giants of scholarship.
- His Scholarly Production
In the sphere of authorship and academic output, the Shaykh bequeathed to the ummah a vast and priceless legacy from which scholars and researchers continue to draw pure, refreshing water. Many volumes of his books, treatises, fatwas, and legal questions have been published, yet a great deal remains unknown or still stored away in manuscript form.

Whenever he spoke on any science or discipline, the listener would suppose he specialised in nothing else, so perfect was his command and so deep his penetration. Whoever surveys his writings and achievements, and knows what he expended in his life of striving by hand and tongue, defending the faith, worship, and remembrance of Allah, can only marvel at the blessing placed in his time, the strength of his endurance, and the firmness of his resolve. Glorified is He who granted him such gifts.
