The male heirs are ten: the son; the son’s son, no matter how many generations removed; the father; the grandfather, however far back; the brother; the brother’s son, however remote; the paternal uncle; the paternal cousin, however distant; the husband; and the emancipating patron.

The female heirs are seven: the daughter and the son’s daughter.
