be adopted if we wish to interpret the Noble Qur’an by the sound method that pleases our Lord, the method He laid down through the tongue of His Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and which was then embraced by the best of this nation—his Companions and, in excellence, the Followers after them, may Allah be pleased with them all.
Although brief, the booklet also contains a wealth of general maxims of concern to every Muslim who hopes to be among the Saved Sect—principles he must grasp and put into practice so that they lead him to the right path. One such rule is: “Whenever a sunnah is revived, an innovation dies,” along with other radiant guidelines with which Allah favored the shaykh—may He forgive him. The shaykh possessed vast knowledge of the Islamic law and the Sunnah of our Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him; and true indeed are the words of our Lord: “Allah will raise in rank those of you who believe and those who have been granted knowledge” (al-Mujādilah 58:11).
May Allah have mercy on the shaykh, reward those who strive to spread his knowledge after him, and grant benefit to every Muslim who reads these pages.
