The finest edition of the work is the one edited, numbered, and indexed by the Islamic Heritage Research Office at Dār al-Maʿrifa in Beirut, for with every hadith it records its own number, the numbers of its other occurrences in al-Nasāʾī, the references supplied by the remaining compilers of the Six Books together with their respective hadith numbers, and its entry number in Tuḥfat al-Ashrāf.
