Allah’s Most Beautiful Names function both as proper names and as attributes, and their descriptive force in no way detracts from their status as personal names.

Fourth: His Most Beautiful Names are simultaneously identifiers and descriptions; using them to describe Him does not conflict with their role as proper names. This differs from the attributes of created beings, which cannot serve as their proper names, because human attributes are shared among many and therefore lack the exclusivity required of a personal name—whereas His attributes, exalted is He, are unique to Him.⦗1⦘
