and dies while in a state of disbelief—such people have rendered their deeds void in this world and the Hereafter; they are the companions of the Fire, abiding therein. (Qur’an 2:217)

129 – He thus informs us that the unbelievers will not stop fighting the believers until they drive them away from their religion.

130 – He also makes it clear that whoever apostatizes and then dies a disbeliever will dwell forever in the Fire.

131 – The same lesson appears in what Allah recounts about His faithful servants in the Book, as when He says: “Pharaoh said, ‘Leave me to kill Moses; let him call upon his Lord. I fear that he may change your religion or spread corruption in the land.’ Moses said, ‘I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every arrogant one who refuses to believe in the Day of Reckoning,’” up to His words, “Clear proofs have already come to you from your Lord.” (Qur’an 40:26-28)

132 – And He, exalted, says: “The chiefs among Pharaoh’s people said, ‘Will you leave Moses and his people to spread corruption in the land?’” up to His words, “Indeed, the earth belongs to Allah; He causes it to be inherited by whomever He wills of His servants, and the ultimate outcome is for the God-fearing.” (Qur’an 7:127-128)

133 – And He says: “Is it that whenever a messenger brought you something your souls did not desire, you grew arrogant—so some of them you denied and others you killed?” (Qur’an 2:87)

134 – And He says: “Indeed, those who deny Allah’s signs and kill the prophets…”
