action is taken against the adherents of the Sunnah, subjecting them to delay and harshness1, whereas in earlier times it was enforced against the people of innovation. The innovator aspires that the banner of misguidance should unite, yet Allah will never allow it to do so until the Hour is established. Thus, despite their great numbers, the various factions will never all agree to oppose the Sunnah—in word or in practice. Rather, a company of the people of the Sunnah will surely remain until Allah’s command comes. However, because the deviant sects constantly assail them, displaying open enmity and hatred in an effort to make them conform, the people of the Sunnah find themselves in unceasing struggle, dispute, defence, and confrontation, night and day. By virtue of this Allah multiplies their magnificent reward and grants them a tremendous recompense.
I ask Allah, Exalted is He, to keep us steadfast upon the Sunnah and cause us to die upon it.
This is the end of what I have been able to compile in this brief work, and all praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
