Chapter: The Prayer of the Two ‘Eids
This prayer is a collective obligation; should the inhabitants of a town abandon it, the ruler is duty-bound to fight them.
Its time coincides with that of the mid-morning (ḍuḥā) prayer and lasts until the sun reaches its zenith. If the community learns of the ‘Eid only after that time has passed, they are to perform the prayer the following day.
It is recommended to hold the prayer in an open field. For ‘Eid al-Aḍḥā it is preferable to perform the prayer early, while for ‘Eid al-Fiṭr it is better to delay it slightly.
