Chapter on Wiping over Footgear
One may wipe for one day and one night¹, while a traveller may do so for three days together with their nights. The concession applies to anyone who incurs a minor impurity after putting the footwear on in a state of full purification, provided that the article is lawful to wear, covers the area that must be washed, and stays in place by itself—such as a leather sock or a thick stocking and the like. The same ruling holds for a man’s turban that is muḥannaka or has a dangling tail, and for women’s head-veils² that are wrapped beneath their throats, when the impurity is minor.
