until we meet Him while He is pleased with us1 through Muhammad—may blessings and peace be upon him2.
May Allah bless our master Muhammad, his family, and his Companions, and grant them peace. The copying of this work was brought to completion at the hand of the servant who is in need of his Self-Sufficient Lord—the lowly slave who admits his sins and shortcomings, hoping for the pardon of his All-Powerful Lord and certain that He is the One Who answers prayers—namely, the poor Abu al-Surur al-‘Ibadi by homeland, Shafi‘i by school, Azhari by residence. It was finished on blessed Thursday, the seventeenth of Jumada al-Thani, in the year twenty-three after one thousand. May Allah forgive the one who penned it, and anyone who looks into it, detects a slip, and then corrects it, and may He forgive all the Muslims. Amen, amen, amen.
