Possession of merchandise sold by volume is effected by measuring it; of that sold by weight, by weighing; of that sold by count, by counting; and of that sold by length, by measuring its length—provided the rightful owner or his proxy is present.

The fees of the measurer, weigher, counter, surveyor, and appraiser are borne by the party handing over the goods, while the cost of transportation is borne by the party receiving them.

A competent, trustworthy appraiser is not held liable for an honest mistake.

It is recommended that a cancellation be granted to any seller or buyer who regrets the transaction.
