Intentionally smelling perfume, touching something scented so that some of it clings to one, or using it in food or drink2 in a way that its taste or fragrance becomes evident. Whoever wears fitted clothing, applies perfume, or covers his head out of forgetfulness, ignorance, or under coercion incurs no liability; but once the excuse is removed he must end the act immediately, otherwise he must offer the fidyah (compensatory ransom).

Removing hair from any part of the body3—even from inside the nose—and clipping the nails.
-
Killing edible4 wild land game, pointing it out, helping to kill it, or ruining its eggs; and likewise killing locusts and lice—but not fleas. Indeed, it is recommended to kill anything that causes harm without restriction.
-
Concluding a marriage contract, which is invalid.
-
Sexual intercourse in the vagina and its preliminaries, fondling outside the vagina, and masturbation.
A fidyah is due for every one of these violations except killing lice and contracting a marriage.5 For eggs or locusts one pays their value where they were destroyed. For a single hair or a single nail the fidyah is feeding one needy person, and for two, feeding two.6 Necessities permit the prohibited acts, yet the pilgrim must still give the fidyah.7
