Foreword
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
All praise is due to Allah. We praise Him, seek His help and forgiveness, and we seek refuge in Allah from the evil within ourselves and from our misdeeds. Whomever Allah guides, none can mislead; and whomever He allows to stray, none can guide. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah alone, without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.
To proceed: this is the second edition of the treatise by Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah—may Allah have mercy on him—entitled “Attire in the Prayer.” It is being reprinted by our esteemed brother, the diligent scholar Ustādh Zuhayr al-Shāwīsh, who tirelessly disseminates beneficial works filled with pure Islamic learning, particularly books of hadith and the writings of the two Shaykhs of Islam, Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah, along with the works of those who followed in their footsteps and adopted their approach, such as the reviver of the call to monotheism in Najd and the surrounding regions, Shaykh Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb, and others—may Allah have mercy on them all.
