Tamam al-MinnahNasir al-Din al-Albani

He remained silent about that report, giving the impression that it is reliably established from Abu Hurayrah, yet that is not the case. Ibn Abi Shaybah relates it in his Musannaf 1/137–138:

“Sharik narrated to us, from ‘Imran ibn Muslim, from Mujahid, from Abu Hurayrah.”

I say: This isnad is weak and cannot stand. Sharik—namely, Sharik ibn ‘Abd Allah the judge—is unreliable because of his poor memory. As for his shaykh, ‘Imran ibn Muslim, he may be ‘Imran ibn Muslim al-Fazzari of Kufa; the biographers list Sharik among his transmitters but do not list Mujahid among his teachers. Or he may be ‘Imran ibn Muslim al-Azdi of Kufa; they list Mujahid among his teachers but do not list Sharik among those who narrated from him.

If the first is intended, he is trustworthy; if the second, he is a contemptible Rāfiḍi. Allah knows best.

Moreover, even were its chain sound, the report contradicts what is authentically established from Abu Hurayrah, who said, “No ablution is required except after hadath (a nullifying occurrence).” Al-Bukhari records it in suspended form, and Isma‘il al-Qadi supplied a connected, sound chain, as al-Hafiz noted. The wording also appears as a Prophetic hadith: “...except after a sound or wind,” documented in Mishkat al-Masabih 310 (second verification), Irwa’ al-Ghalil 1/145, 153, and Sahih Abi Dawud 196; Muslim transmits a similar version.

It likewise clashes with the narration of the Ansari who stood praying at night. A polytheist shot him with an arrow that pierced him, yet he pulled it out; after three such arrows he still bowed, prostrated, and completed his prayer while blood streamed from him. Al-Bukhari cites the report in suspended form, and Ahmad and others connect it; it is authenticated in Sahih Abi Dawud 193. The report is effectively traced back to the Prophet ﷺ, for it is inconceivable that he remained unaware of it; and had profuse bleeding nullified ablution he would have stated so, for delaying clarification beyond the moment of need is impermissible according to legal principles.

Even supposing it escaped the Prophet ﷺ, it is certainly not hidden from Allah, before Whom nothing in heaven or on earth is concealed.
