From the Introduction
He writes: “To proceed: this book addresses questions of Islamic jurisprudence, each one accompanied by its proofs from the unequivocal text of the Quran and the authentic Sunnah.”
I reply: This assertion holds only in general, for the book actually contains many weak hadiths. Some of them he leaves without comment, while others he assumed to be sound or fair, merely imitating the judgment of others—yet in all of this he is mistaken. Furthermore, there are a good number of issues for which he offers no proof at all; indeed, in some cases the evidence points to the contrary. The particulars of this brief critique will be set out in their proper places, God willing.
