Under the heading “Travel by ship …,” he cites: “ʿAbd Allāh b. Abī ʿUtbah said, ‘I sailed with Jābir b. ʿAbd Allāh, Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, and Abū Hurayrah in a vessel. They stood and prayed in congregation, one of them leading the rest, even though they were able to reach the shore.’ Saʿīd b. Manṣūr is the source of this narration.”

I add: It is also reported by ʿAbd al-Razzāq (5 / 582), Ibn Abī Shaybah (2 / 266), and al-Bayhaqī (3 / 155) with an authentic chain of transmission.
