Among the places where prayer is forbidden is what he lists under No. 1, “Praying in a cemetery,” citing the wording: “Both of them narrated from Jundub ibn ʿAbd Allah al-Bajalī …”
I say: Referencing it to “both of them”—meaning the two Shaykhs—is incorrect. This ḥadith is found only in Muslim, not in al-Bukhārī, as noted in Tuhfat al-Ashrāf and elsewhere such as Nayl, 2/114, and it is documented in Irwāʾ, 1/318.
He further says: “And from him ﷺ that he said, ‘Allah has cursed the women who frequently visit graves and those who build mosques and place lamps upon them.’”
I say: Despite its fame, this ḥadith has a weak chain. It is transmitted by Abū Ṣāliḥ Badhām from Ibn ʿAbbās, and Badhām was declared weak by the majority—indeed, some even accused him of fabrication, as I explained in Aḥkām al-Janāʾiz and detailed in al-Taʿlīqāt al-Jiyād.
