Tamam al-MinnahNasir al-Din al-Albani

⦗38⦘ “I heard Aḥmad being asked, ‘If the imam is leading the ẓuhr prayer, may he recite a verse that requires prostration?’ He replied, ‘No.’ The report from Ibn ʿUmar was then cited to him, and he said, ‘Sulaymān did not hear it from Abū Majliz,’ adding, ‘Some transmit it without even mentioning Ibn ʿUmar.’

This, as Imām Aḥmad—may Allah have mercy on him—pointed out, is a second flaw: the report is mursal (missing a link).

In short, the ḥadith is not sound, so it cannot be used to justify making the prostration of recitation in a silent prayer. The correct position is that of Abū Ḥanīfah, who held it to be disliked, and this is plainly supported by the very words of Imām Aḥmad just cited.
