Tamam al-MinnahNasir al-Din al-Albani

I say: If this is not in fact a retraction—and that is what we hope—then it is an exceedingly grave inconsistency. At the beginning of his discussion he affirms that making qunūt in the Dawn Prayer on a continual basis is not prescribed, and he reinforces this at the end by stating that the Prophet’s ﷺ practice was to abandon that qunūt. How, then, can he go on—while this point is undeniably correct—to say, “Doing it or leaving it are equivalent”? I truly wonder: How can an act that is not legislated ever be on a par with abandoning it, which is the legislated course?

A similar contradiction from the author will appear in his treatment of “reciting aloud in the eclipse prayer and reciting quietly in it”; see p. 263.

This leads me to assert categorically that the author does not review what he writes, and that is one of the reasons so many errors have crept into this book. Otherwise, even someone with the least knowledge and understanding would notice so glaring a contradiction.
