Tamam al-MinnahNasir al-Din al-Albani

Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah explicitly affirmed in Majmūʿ al-Rasāʾil al-Kubrā (2/234) that, because of this ḥadīth, it is recommended to perform ablution after vomiting.

  1. Ablution after carrying the deceased. This is based on the Prophet’s ﷺ statement:
“Whoever washes a dead person should perform ghusl, and whoever carries him should perform wudūʾ.”

It is an authentic ḥadīth transmitted through several chains, some ṣaḥīḥ and others ḥasan, as I detailed in Irwāʾ al-Ghalīl, no. 144. It was judged sound by Ibn al-Qayyim, Ibn al-Qaṭṭān, Ibn Ḥazm, and al-Ḥāfiẓ; see Talkhīs al-Habīr 2/134.

I later noticed that the author cites this very ḥadīth to recommend bathing after washing the deceased in a subsequent section of his book, yet he seems to have overlooked employing it for the point I have made here.
