Taqrib al-TadmuriyyahIbn al-'Uthaymin

to His Messenger, and the scripture that He sent down beforehand.” ⦗An-Nisa 4:136⦘

And His statement, Most High: “O mankind! The Messenger has come to you with the truth from your Lord, so believe; that is better for you. But if you disbelieve, then to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.” ⦗An-Nisa 4:170⦘

The reason is that every report from Allah issues from perfect knowledge; He is more knowledgeable about Himself and about all things than anyone else, as He says: “Say, ‘Do you know better, or does Allah?’” ⦗Al-Baqarah 2:140⦘

Furthermore, the report of Allah is the most truthful of all reports, as He says: “Who speaks more truthfully than Allah?” ⦗An-Nisa 4:87⦘

And the speech of Allah is the most eloquent, the most expressive, and the clearest, as He says: “They never bring you a parable, but We bring you the truth and a better explanation.” ⦗Al-Furqan 25:33⦘

He also says: “Allah has sent down the best discourse: a Book, consistent and oft-repeated.” ⦗Az-Zumar 39:23⦘ —“consistent,” meaning each part resembles the others in perfection and clarity.

And He, Exalted, says: “The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down upon your heart so that you may be one of the warners, in a clear Arabic tongue.” ⦗Ash-Shu‘ara 26:193-195⦘

Moreover, Allah intends, through the revelation He sends to His servants, that they be guided and not go astray, as He says: “Allah wants to make things clear to you and to guide you to the ways of those before you.” ⦗An-Nisa 4:26⦘

And He says: “Allah makes things clear to you lest you should stray; Allah has knowledge of all things.” ⦗An-Nisa 4:176⦘

In the same way, the report of the Prophet ﷺ proceeds from knowledge, for he ﷺ was the most knowledgeable of people concerning his Lord, His names, attributes, and rulings. His report is the truest of human reports, his speech the most eloquent of human speech, and his purpose the noblest of human purposes; he was the most sincere of creation toward creation.

Thus, within the report of Allah and the report of His Messenger are combined perfect knowledge, perfect truthfulness, perfect clarity, and perfect intent and will—these are the very elements that make a report worthy of acceptance.
