The fourth category consists of those who have failed to actualize the two foundational principles of the Revealed Law and the two foundational principles of the divine decree. They offer no worship to Allah whatsoever, nor do they seek His help or turn to Him in times of distress. Instead, they deem themselves too proud to worship Allah, imagining themselves self-sufficient and independent of their Creator. In moments of severe hardship or when pursuing their objectives, they may even turn to the devils, obeying them in what the devils demand and being assisted by them in what they themselves desire. Some observers mistake this for a type of miracle, whereas it is in fact a form of humiliation, for their ultimate end is nothing but disgrace and abasement. This is the most depraved of all the categories.
